Welded Mesh Panel Systems (Pembroke Dock, West Wales)

before installation

The above picture is of the football grounds, the installation of the top fence was started first, due to extreme heavy rain falls and the only access to the area was across the football pitches we had to stop the installation due to the damage being caused by machinery we needed to transport the materials to the fence line and also to excavate the foundations, remove spoil from the area and to install the fencing system.

Bottom fence during installation

The picture above is of the start of the bottom fence being installed after the installation of the top fence was put on hold until the ground was dry enough to take our machinery without causing excessive damage, the bottom of the football field was a lot dryer than the top so we moved down the field and continued installing the bottom sections of the bottom fence.

worker in hole 1

The above picture is of one of our experienced staff battling with large amounts of rock in the hole, unfortunately there is only one way to remove the rock from the holes, with this kind of rigid system there is no other way, the posts have to be installed in the exact locations.

worker in hole 2

The above picture again is of another one of our highly skilled installation team nearly ready to concrete the upright post into the hole and move on along the line, when we come across obstacles in the ground not only does it increase our work load but also in many cases can put us behind with the contract and also put our entire work program back for the rest of the year, on this contract we were told that the ground was virgin ground and very soft digging, unfortunately due to incorrect information prior to the job starting this has resulted to extra costs to our customer.

post

someone sticking his long prong into the hole

and now we see his rocky bottom

and now we see his bottom hole

something extreme in his bottom hole

the holes it was difficult to enter

The above pictures are of just a few of the holes which were very difficult to excavate in the correct location and most importantly to the correct depths.

once his bottom was finished off

more pictures of his finished bottom

are you tired of seeing his bottom yet

I know I am

The above four pictures are of the completed bottom fence, a pedestrian gate was installed so that if the balls were to escape over the fence then they can be easily retrieved through the access gate located in the middle of the fence rather than having to run all the around the perimeter.

having finished with his bottom lets look at his top

The above picture is of when we returned to the top fence once the weather had settled down and the ground had dried out, all the materials were transported from our on site stores to the fence line using our 4 x 4 wheel drive Quad bike and trailer, no other machinery was taken on to the pitch areas to ensure that minimum damaged was caused to the ground, 80% of the fencing works were carried out manually to ensure the least damage as possible to the ground was made.

top of the morning to ya

The above picture is of the top fence with all the upright posts and bottom panels installed, we had to work around the weather and swap from the top fence to the bottom when the ground was to wet at the top of the field.

all done top and bottom

hope this was a digital camera

must have cost a fortune for all these pics if it wasnt

The above three pictures are of the completed fence at the top of the football field, also a pedestrian gate was installed in the middle of the fence for ball retrievals.

oh noes think of the fluffy critters

The above picture is of the football car park area before the fencing system was installed.

nearly done

The above two pictures are of the completed short section of fencing to protect the football clubs car park, this section was installed last as it was the closest to the only access entrance onto the field, the works were started in October 2008 and successfully completed in November 2008, the contract did run behind by a few weeks due to the extreme weather and ground conditions.
