Between the shop and the driving range
This was the existing driving range for 16 years before our groundworks commenced.
Digging the holes for the main upright supports for the driving range structure. There were complications due to an existing cedar tree which had spread roots into the excavation area, meaning the entire operation had to be moved forward by half a metre. If we had not discovered the roots at an early stage, the results for the building later on could have been catastrophic.
Challows supplied and built the actual structure upon the foundations we had laid. In the future we will be looking to supply and build the structures as well as doing the excavation.
After the timber structure was erected, we then reduced the ground levels and prepared the over site.
The ground levels have been reduced, and the road forms set ready for concreting.
The driving range floor was laid in one pour. A concrete pump was on site to minimise the workload.
The next phase was to reduce the ground levels in the proposed area for the driving range shop.
The footings have been excavated ready for the concrete pour.
The footings have been concreted and the first course of blocks laid.
The completed building, supplied and constructed on our foundations by another company
Ground levels were reduced to prepare for the concrete path.
The concrete was laid in two pours due to the width. This view is of the front of the shop, you can just see the edge of the actual driving range on the left.
After the concrete was poured and set, a layer of wet pour rubber was set in the concrete to form a soft path between the shop and the driving range.
